Growing in Sanctification
Reading: Philippians 2:12-13 - Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Devotional: You've been married to Christ through justification—now it's time to grow in the relationship through sanctification. This is the ongoing work where God partners with you to transform you into Christ's likeness. Like a couple celebrating their 25th anniversary who aren't "more married" but are better spouses, you aren't becoming more saved, but you are becoming more aligned with Jesus. God provides the Holy Spirit to guide, convict, challenge, and affirm you. Your responsibility is to cooperate—to learn about your Lord, to follow His ways, to take the relationship seriously. Don't settle for positional change without relational growth. Pursue knowing Him deeply, serving Him faithfully, and becoming the person He created you to be.
