The Gardener's Pruning
Reading: John 15:1-2 - “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Devotional: God the Father is the Gardener who cuts off dead branches and prunes fruitful ones for greater productivity. Pruning feels painful—it's the removal of something that's alive but unproductive. Perhaps it's a relationship, habit, ambition, or comfort that consumes energy without producing spiritual fruit. The question isn't whether something is good, but whether it's good for where you're going. God's pruning isn't punishment; it's purposeful cultivation. He sees potential you cannot yet see. When you sense God removing something from your life, don't resist—trust the Gardener's wisdom. He knows exactly what needs cutting to increase your fruitfulness. What is still alive in your life but producing no fruit? Surrender it to the Gardener today and trust His loving hands.
