You Are the Sanctuary
Reading: Ephesians 2:19-22
- Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Devotional: For generations, God's people traveled to a specific place to encounter His presence. The tabernacle, the temple, the Holy of Holies. Access was restricted, mediated, and guarded. Then came the cross. Through Christ, the barrier was removed and the presence of God was made available to every believer. You are not someone who visits a sanctuary once a week. You are the sanctuary. The Spirit of God dwells in you, moves with you, and is present through you in every conversation and encounter. This is not a casual arrangement. It is a high and holy calling that should reshape how you see yourself every single day.

Practical Application: Each morning this week, before reaching for your phone, say aloud: "I am a dwelling place for the living God. His presence goes with me today."
