Daily Devotional 7-31-26
Worthy of Endless Praise
Reading: Revelation 4:6-9 - Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’
who was, and is, and is to come.”
Devotional: In Revelation 4, created beings surround the throne of God and never stop declaring His holiness. Day and night, without ceasing, the declaration goes on. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. This is not repetition born of boredom. It is the only response worthy of a God who is infinitely, eternally, and completely holy. Everything we have explored this week, the burning bush, the holy ground, the set-apart life, the sanctuary we carry within us, all of it flows from the character of a God who is holy forever. Worship is the only fitting response.
Practical Application: Set aside fifteen uninterrupted minutes today for worship. Sing, sit in silence, or simply speak words of praise aloud. Give God everything you have got in that moment, whatever that looks like for you.
