Come and See
Reading: John 4:39-41 -- Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers.
Devotional: Two simple words launched a movement in a Samaritan village: come and see. The woman did not have a polished theological argument. She had an encounter, and she could not contain it. She ran back to the very people who likely knew her reputation and invited them into something she was still processing herself. The result was that many believed, first because of her testimony and then because they experienced Jesus directly. An invitation does not require expertise. It requires honesty about what you have encountered. Who in your life has been on your mind lately, someone you could simply invite to come and see?
