When Worry Takes the Wheel
Reading:
Luke 12:22-26 - Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

Devotional: Jesus does not whisper his instruction — he declares it directly to his closest followers: do not worry about your life. In Luke 12:22-26, he reminds us that worry cannot add a single hour to our existence. It consumes energy, distorts reality, and drives decisions that are better left unmade. Worry is not wisdom. It is imagination running without a leash. Today, identify one specific thing pulling at your mind. Name it. Then ask yourself honestly: is worrying about this producing anything of value? Surrender what you cannot control and trust the One who holds every hour.

Reflection Question:
What has worry convinced you to believe that simply is not true?
