Casting Your Anxiety on the One Who Cares

Reading:

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Devotional: First Peter 5:6-7 offers one of Scripture's most tender invitations — to cast your anxiety on God because he genuinely cares for you. This is not a passive suggestion. The language is active and intentional. Cast it. Throw it. Release it. Philippians 4:6-7 adds that when we bring our requests to God with thanksgiving, a peace that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds. Worry demands that you carry what you were never designed to hold. God does not ask you to figure everything out. He asks you to bring it to him. Today, come to him — not with polished words, but with honest surrender.

Reflection Question: What would change in your daily life if you consistently practiced casting your anxiety on God rather than carrying it alone?
