Called Back by Name

Luke 10:41 - “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things..
John 10:3 - The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
Isaiah 43:1 -
But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
Devotional: When Jesus said "Martha, Martha," he was not scolding her. He was calling her back. There is a tenderness in the repetition of a name that signals deep care rather than condemnation. Isaiah 43:1 reminds us that God calls each of us by name and claims us as his own. John 10:3 tells us the Good Shepherd calls his sheep by name and leads them. Today, imagine God speaking your name twice, gently, pulling you back from whatever has pulled you away. You are not in trouble.
