Daily Devotional 9-29-26
Clothed in Christ
Reading: Galatians 3:26-27 - So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
Devotional: The apostle Paul uses striking language when he describes what happens in baptism. He does not describe a ceremony or a tradition. He describes clothing. To be baptized into Christ is to put him on, to be wrapped in him, to enter into him. This is not symbolic language meant to be reduced to a mere outward gesture. It is an identity statement. You are no longer defined by what you have done or what has been done to you. You are defined by who you are wearing. When the Father looks at you, he sees his Son. That is the depth of what God has made available to every person who surrenders to him.
Personal Reflection: How does the image of being clothed with Christ change the way you see yourself? Are you living as someone who has put on Christ, or are you still dressing in the old identity?
