Daily Devotional 11-12-26
Fear Is Real, But So Is God
Reading: Psalm 34:4-7 --
I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
Devotional: Fear is not weakness. It is part of the human condition. From Abraham to the apostles, God's people have wrestled with fear at every stage of life. What matters is not the absence of fear but what we do with it. The sermon reminds us that anxiety, worry, and stress are symptoms. Fear is the root. Before you can treat the symptom, you must name the source. Today, sit quietly and ask yourself: what am I actually afraid of? Bring that honest answer to God. He already knows it. He is not surprised by it. He is waiting in it.
