Daily Devotional 10-29-26
It Does Not Have to End That Way
Reading:
Romans 8:1 - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
Joel 2:25-26 - “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten,
the great locust and the young locust,
the other locusts and the locust swarm
my great army that I sent among you.
You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,
and you will praise the name of the Lord your God,
who has worked wonders for you;
never again will my people be shamed.
Devotional: One of the most powerful truths the gospel offers is that the ending is not fixed by your worst moment. Romans 8:1 declares that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. That is not a small statement. It is a declaration that the verdict over your life is not determined by your greatest failure. Joel speaks of God restoring what the locusts have eaten, meaning what has been stripped away, consumed, and lost can be replenished by the hand of God. Regret tells you the story is over. God says the story is still being written.
Reflection: What area of your life have you mentally written off as too far gone for God to restore?
