Worthy of the Gospel
Reading: Philippians 1:27 - Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
Devotional: Paul's instruction to conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel is not a call to perfection -- it is a call to alignment. It asks a daily question: are my choices, my attitudes, and my treatment of others reflecting the work Christ is doing in me? This is not about performance for others. It is about surrender to God's ways over your own. As Pastor David Green shared, the heart of the gospel can be captured simply: thy will be done, because my will has made enough of a mess.
