WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Baptism was a part of every conversion experience in the book of Acts (the New Testament book about the start of the first churches). Although situations varied, all who expressed belief in Jesus were baptized. We are not saying that you cannot be saved without baptism, we are underscoring that baptism is a part of one's conversion experience.

The word "baptism" as it appears in the Bible means immersion. During baptism, we are identifying with Jesus' experience and dying to our old life, burying our old life of sin, and we are raised into new life:

"Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life” (Romans 6:3).

HOW WILL I KNOW I’M READY TO BE BAPTIZED?
You are ready to be baptized when you’re willing to receive Jesus as your Savior. Notice how baptism is the first step to following Jesus in the verses below:

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

WHO SHOULD BAPTIZE ME?
Any Christian can baptize you. While our Lead Pastor will be baptizing some individuals on Baptism Sunday, you can choose to have your spouse, parent, or another follower of Jesus (maybe someone who significantly influenced your decision to follow Jesus) baptize you.

WHO SHOULD I INVITE?
Be sure to invite your family and friends! Your baptism is deeply meaningful moment so those closest to you are more than welcome to join the celebration.

WHAT DO I BRING?
We’ll provide you with a T-Shirt on Baptism Sunday. You’ll wear this during your baptism, so be sure to bring a dry change of clothes and anything else you may need to feel comfortable afterward.

Baptism is for anyone who has crossed the line of faith and made a personal decision to follow Jesus. If that’s you and you’re ready to take the next step, sign-up for Baptism Sunday.
